For students who struggle with abstract concepts, provide a list of words or simple symbols for drawing or collaging instead of generating their own.
Differentiation (Challenge)
Ask students to write a short two-paragraph reflection:
1.
Describe one of the roughest waves they included. When did they feel this way?
2.
Describe one of the Deep Self qualities they included. When did they feel this way?
Extension
Use the drawings for later lessons about resilience or emotional regulation, or as a journal prompt to reflect on your inner world and full Self.
Example: “When you feel stressed, how can your deep ocean quality - like Courage or Calm - help you ride that wave?”
