Objective

Have you ever noticed how one small negative moment can stick in your mind - even if lots of good things happened, too? In this activity, you’ll explore how your brain works and practice ways to see a fuller, more balanced picture.

Time Estimate

~50–55 minutes

Materials

Your teacher will provide these materials for you and your partner:

Two small cups or containers (labeled Positive and Negative)

About 20 small objects (beans, coins, paper clips, etc.)

Paper or a journal for reflection

(If materials are limited, you can draw two circles on paper and make checkmarks instead of using cups.)
